A very solid and interesting pinot noir: notes of cherry cola, strawberry, plum, and cranberry, complemented by pepper spice, some floral notes, light minerals, chocolate and toasty oak on the nose. The subtly umami-rich and mineral-toned palate is a reflection of the nose in a dark mirror, with notes of dark cherry, pomegranate, sweet cranberry, cola, anise and baking spice. The crisp acidity fosters good structure without being too sharp against the persistent fruit and soft tannins, leading to a long, lingering finish of dark chocolate, black pepper spice and oak.
