Deep black and blue fruits on the nose are supported by a range of lifted floral notes, underlain by notes of tilled earth and powdered porcini mushrooms, surrounded by a complex border of resinous rosemary, a puff of gunpowder, flinty graphite and criollo cogar wrapper. The palate bursts with a plushy textured core of blackcurrant and ripe raspberry, deepened by crushed cacao nibs and fresh licorice root, before sliding silkily through a delightfully delineated and lengthy exit. The hint of grip and grit on the finish from the excellent tannic structure portends a rewarding and delicious life for this wine.
