ABOUT WALT WINES

Walt Wines is owned by vintners Kathryn Walt Hall and Craig Hall, and online at their website you can read about how Kathryn came up in the industry as the daughter of winegrowers.

“Our family produced six different varietals that we sold to several great wineries,” she says. “For my parents, growing grapes was a shared family vision—a view of well cared for vines out the kitchen window, starting early in the day doing what you really love, the satisfaction of a hard day’s work, the feeling of peace walking through the vineyard before sunset.”

As a producer of wines today, Walt Wines is dedicated to the production of two styles of wine ⁠— Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. For their wine, the company sources its grapes from the Pacific Coast’s most distinctive vineyard sites such as Sta. Rita Hills, Sonoma County, Anderson Valley, Napa Valley and the Willamette Valley.

ABOUT BLUE JAY PINOT NOIR

Walt Blue Jay Pinot Noir is an Anderson Valley Pinot Noir that is focused and elegant with luscious cherry fruit and lifting acidity.

Online, the winery describes the wine as having warm, inviting aromas of wild blueberry, clove, caramel, and forest floor which rise from the glass. The palate is plush and layered, with roasted stem inclusion adding breadth and savory notes. Deep flavors of sassafras root and black cherry bring this wine to a full-bodied and balanced finish.
