Have you seen this EXTREMELY LIMITED RUN mezcal on our store shelves!?

This Mezcal is a vegan "pechuga" made from Espadin agave and has a depth of flavor from the nanche fruit it’s made with. Nanche fruit is a small yellow fruit that is added during the second distillation.

On the nose, this mezcal has a gentle scent of citrus. On the palate it has a mild vegetality with crisp citrus notes and a pleasant viscosity that is warm and lingers nicely at the finish.

Wahaka is owned and produced by a single, indigenous Zapotec family with a lineage that can be traced back to the beginnings of Mezcal itself.

ABOUT MEZCAL
The word mezcal means "oven-cooked agave"

Mezcal is made from the heart of the agave plant, called the piña, in much the same way as it was 200 years ago.

The agave plant is part of the Agavaceae family, which has almost 200 subspecies.

Mezcal is made from over 30 agave species, varieties, and subvarieties, in contrast with tequila, which is made only with blue agave.

"The evolution over the years of interest in these wonderful agave spirits has been pretty interesting to me. I’m a wine guy by trade. I grew up in Northern California and got into bourbons a bit later on and now I’m really seeing a big trend toward higher-end agave spirits, especially the barrel-aged expressions.
