We love it when a drink can be thematic to an event or holiday!

So when the horses are lining up for the 2021 race this Saturday in Kentucky, choose a tasty bourbon from the state and crush some ice — as the MINT JUELP isn't just an easy drink to make... It's a classic for a reason.

This sweetened up mix of whiskey and ice takes on a depth of flavor from the simple addition of mint. It's a perfect spring/summer sipper. But don't take our word for it! Stock up on the following ingredients and find out for yourself!

INGREDIENTS
|2oz Kentucky bourbon
.5oz simple syrup
6-8 mint leaves
Shaved or crushed ice

We recommend either Old Forester or Woodford Reserve!

PREPARATION
Muddle mint leaves gently in simple syrup in a Julep cup or similar glass. Add ice and then add bourbon while stirring, then top with ice. Stir to dilute and top with a mint sprig.
