In 2013 MGPI did an experimental run of a new mash bill comprised of 51% Rye and 49% Malted Barley. There were 22 barrels total, consisting of 4 different non-standard char and toast levels - labeled C, D, E & F barrels.
Smoke wagon bought and is distributing this highly unusual and super limited run of rye whiskies. Of the 22 barrels total, Smoke Wagon acquired 6 of each the C, E & F and only 4 barrels of D. Our bottle at Bag & String Wine Merchants comes from those barrels labeled D - which received a #2 char on the staves and #2 char on the heads.
